acrylic, muslin, and paper on panel
18 x 14 inches
Image description: A horizontal painting by Jack Arthur Wood Jr. in which strips of paper and muslin are collaged to loosely form a landscape. Around the bottom of the panel, pieces of paper cut in organic, rock-like shapes are layered over each other. They appear in vibrant gradients that fade from peach to fire red, pink to avocado to black. Around the center and top of the canvas, a sort of sky is formed with layered strips painted to fade from blue to white, green to black. Toward the top of the panel, they become darker, fading from black to navy blue. Strips of muslin wrap the edges of the panel and frame the painting on the surface.Jack Arthur Wood Jr. is an artist practicing in Queens, New York. You can find more of his work at jackarthurwood.com
